SPOILER for Flight of Icarus, I guess. It's really fucking good. I'm hoping that at this point, Eddie's sexuality remains ambiguous because people are focusing on it way too much. Hell, his best friend Ronnie might be a lesbian. WHY DOES NO ONE WANT TO TALK ABOUT THAT? She could also just be asexual and aromantic. There are so many possibilities, and people are ignoring it.
I'm reading Flight of Icarus, and I am halfway through. It's compelling. It's very Eddie, and once again, Eddie being interested in women does NOT make him straight. Bisexuals and pansexuals exist. But this isn't about his sexuality and if you guys stop focusing on that for one minute, you'll realize this is about Eddie and his journey about how he got where he is. Why he thinks so low of jocks, why he got into selling drugs. This is how he flew too close to the sun to try to be a Rockstar, and he tried hard not to be like his father, how he tried so hard to clear his family name. If you look close enough, there are crumbs where he might be into men, but he's deeply closeted, and it's probably because of the way the town treats him. Just because he's been with women doesn't mean that he isn't queer. I didn't realize I was BISEXUAL until much later. I've always thought that it was Eddie, and that might be the case. So say it with me just because he's interested in women, doesn't mean he's not queer. Fucking stop it with the bi erasure and the pan erasure. SPOILER: In the book, he flirted with a male cop and he made a point of noticing jocks muscles. So, yeah, I don't think he knows, and I, 100% think Steve was his awakening.

"I'm sorry, you're what," Gareth asks, stunned by what Eddie just said.
"I'm dating Steve." Eddie braces for the inevitable impact that is about to happen.
"Steve Harrington."
Jeff clears his throat. "Like, King Steve?"
"The Hair Harrington," Grant adds on.
"Are you out of your mind?"
Eddie sighs and lets his head fall into his hands. "See, this is why I didn't want to tell you guys. I knew you would get stuck in who he was and not who he is now and start questioning things and trying to get me to break it off."
"Well, no, let's slow down," Jeff intervenes, holding his hand out to tell Gareth to shut up. "How long have you been dating?"
Eddie tilts his head to the side. "Officially, a month."
"A month," Gareth exclaims.
"Unofficially, four months."
"FOUR MONTHS." Gareth gets up from where he was sitting and does a lap around the garage.
"That's a long time to be unofficial," Grant adds, Jeff nodding along.
Gareth gets in Eddie's face. "How could you be seeing Steve Harrington for four months and not tell us."
"Because I knew you would act just like this!"
Jeff pulls Grant back by his vest and pushes him back into the chair. "How were you guys together for three months before you made it official."
"Probably because Steve was still sleeping around," Gareth mutters.
"Oh shut it, Gareth," Grant snaps.
"He wanted it to be official pretty much the moment it started, I was just too scared to do it."
Jeff walks over and places a hand on Eddie's shoulder. "But now you're not as scared right. Now it's good between you two."
Eddie can't help the smile that forms on his face. "Yeah, it is."
"But why him?" Gareth asks, clearly upset by this information. "You saw who he was in high school man. Friends with the people who made fun of us for fun. Total player. Cared more about his looks and reputation than anything else."
"Oh like you don't do the same thing," Grant ruffles Gareth's hard.
"Seriously, why him?"
"Cause for the first time when I ran away, he came looking for me."
Gareth gives him a blank stare. "What."
Eddie stands up, shaking his head. "You know me, can't have anything good. The moment people start to care about me, especially romantically, I run away. Can't handle it. Took Wayne long enough to get me in, but that's different. You guys kept coming back, but that was different too. No one who ever wanted me like that gave enough of a shit about me to come find me after I ran away. He did."
"Ed-"
"The first big fight we had, I thought it was over. He wanted something more and I was so sure I wasn't enough for him. That he was just going to realize down the road that I was nothing. So I started a fight, picked a nerve I knew would hit just right so that it would end right then and there. And I knew he would fight back, and he did. So I ran away, thinking that it was over. The next morning he came back and apologized, like he had anything to apologize for. He came after me. And kept doing it. He knew that I didn't mean it, that this was just a defense. For the first time, no one let me run away."
"Shit," Gareth exhales. "That's pretty great."
Jeff claps Eddie on the back. "Really great.
"Can we meet him, officially," Grant asks.
"Yeah sure, he's been asking about you guys. Wants to come to a show sometimes."
"I can't believe Steve Harrington is going to be one of our regulars."
Grant gasps. "Our first groupie."
"Oh my god, yes."
"Guys stop it, it's not that serious."
"Sounds pretty serious to me," Gareth gets up again and walks over to Eddie. "I'm sorry for judging him. If," he looks up and takes a deep breath. "If he makes you happy, then I guess he's ok. But I want to meet him and scare the shit out of him."
Eddie snorts. "Yeah, good luck with that."

Part 1
Part 2
Part 4
Part 3 of the roommate idea
Steve declines the hellfire invitation from Dustin, making up a pretend date, because otherwise he was not getting out of that one. He checked the time on the wall.
2:27
Yeah, alright.
He waited a few hours before getting ready and heading to the school.
The game starts in thirty minutes so they should be-
Steve grinned as he watched the back of Dustin move into the drama room.
Perfect.
He waited a minute, listening into their conversation before deciding that he didn't need to wait for them to stop because if they stopped that meant they were starting.
He slammed open the clubs door, making a couple people in the room jump.
âSteve! What are you doing here?" Eddie asked from his place on the throne. "DnDs over, pack up your shit.â He stated, leaving no room for argument.
Well, apparently a little room.
âWhat!! Why?! Last campaign of the semester, Mike leaves for Cali tomorrow!"
Steve furrowed his brows, and put his hands on his hips, Gareth, Grant, and Jeff weren't arguing, they knew he was serious, good.
âIt can wait till he gets back, why would you even plan this a day before he leaves?â
âWhy do we need to pack our shit?!â
Steve pinched his nose, "We're going to Lucaâs basketball game.â
âWhat?!?â
âThat traitor-"
âStevie, darling, you can't be-â
âWhy?!â
âYou two know each other-â
Steve grimaced, a migraine starting at the fore-front of his mind.
âPlease shut up, Christ.â
Eddie winced and immediately shushed everyone.
âWe're going to this game, because even if Lucas doesn't get to play, we still gotta support him. Dustin, Mike, you guys have only gone to one of his games, his first one.â
He turned the other group, "Grant, Gareth, Jeff, fuck Eddie. None of you have gone to a game, I know it's not your usual shit but you gotta come. Hell, Erica, you're his sister, I mean, youâve done an amazing job at showing up at the rest, so I canât really complain about you.â
Dustin winced, â Sorry Steve, but why does this matter so much to you? It's not the end of the world.â
Steve rubbed his arm, â He needs someone to be there for him, even if he doesn't win. You can just do the damn campaign at Eddie's when Mike comes back.â
Mike, in question, scoffs, âAnd since when do you make the rules.â
Steve ignores him, reaching forward and grabbing Eddie's arm, and Ericaâs shoulder. "Suit yourselves, but kinda hard to play DnD without the Dungeon Master, and Eddie and Erica don't have a choice.â
They make their way to the gym, a reluctant group of Hellfire in tow, and sit across the top of the bleachers. Steve waves at Robin from where he sits and then turns to Hellfire. â Thank you guys for being reasonable."
Gareth scrunches his nose, âYou cannot just keep stealing Eddie randomly.â Steve purses his lips, and leans into the man in question.
"Not stealing if he's okay with it, right Eds?â Eddie looked between the two, â I'm sensing I should say yes?"
Steve grinned and patted his cheek. âGood boy."
Dustin turned to them, "Was Eddie the date you were talking about earlier? You tell seem awfully friendly."
Eddie flushed, and let's out an awkward laugh. " Steve wishes he could date me."

I think the kids from the party wouldnât connect the dots that thereâs something more than friendship going on between Steve and Eddie very fast. Because theyâve now listened for about a year that no Steve and Robin are not together and they donât want to be either and the two are just weirdly close . Not lovey-dovey affectionate obviously but still super close and rather inseparable. Not to mention the kids also assume that Steve is straight as an arrow. So when Eddie and Steve seem to get closer and closer they just assume theyâre good friends now. That itâs the upside down effect or something. Surprised they even get along in the first place.
But who would start suspecting something? Corroded Coffin guys. They know something happened during the spring but not the whole truth so they donât have the same perspective as the kids. But they see the lingering looks, the lingering hands and touches. They notice when you walk in on them and it looks like they were just holding hands, something thatâs easy to miss if you donât pay attention but they are. They notice how the two gravitate towards each other, sit next to each other when thereâs enough room not to be glued together but they choose to be. How they look and smile at each other across the room. See them sharing cigarettes, whispering into each others ears and hear them honest to god giggle at each othersâ jokes.
And even when Steve and Eddie are not together and Corroded Coffin have their band practice/ hang outs, when theyâre not playing and practicing the songs they usually do, they can catch Eddie strumming his guitar something that undeniably sounds like a love song.
And sure they might know Eddieâs uhm, preferences when it comes to a partner (read: he is gay af) but Steve Harrington? Well it wouldnât be the first time the guy surprises them. They also didnât think he was such a nice guy until they got to know him better after he let them have DnD sessions at his house.
Steveâs friendship with Buckley throws them off a little bit at times because those two are tight but then again she is way too unbothered by the fact that Steve and Eddie seem to be making heart eyes at each other every time theyâre in the room together. So yeah. Theyâll figure this out, theyâre on a quest now.

Part One | Part Two
Jeff felt like he was the only one who actually tried to do some study during his free period. Granted, this was mostly because he didnât share his free period with anyone, but hey. Heâs still counting it. It felt easier than studying at home â no mom to knock on his door every few minutes to ask him something, no annoying younger brothers. Just annoying students constantly getting shushed for talking too loud in the library. At least they listened when the librarian scolded them, unlike a pair of certain younger brothers.
So every day he could, he claimed the same table off to the side of the library, spread out his books, and tried to get some work done. Work on an essay, do some math sheets, sneak in some DnD research when he had the time (and wasnât worried about the other teens trying to vandalise his papers). It meant he had more time at home to do things he actually liked. DnD. Guitar. Watch some TV.
It was calm, it was routine. No one else sat at his table, and it was better that way. No one wanted to hang out with one of the freaks. It was better when the cliques of Hawkins High didnât interact. It was also easier said than done. A voice clears â light, high, and almost tentative. Right next to his table. Jeff looks up and sees the most beautiful woman heâs ever seen.
Chrissy Cunningham.
His heart skips a beat, butterflies flutter in his stomach, every single lovesick cliché. Jeff felt them all. Feelings swirling in his stomach like honey. Sticky sweet and coating all of his insides. It was inescapable. Unavoidable.
She was cute, and he could swear he could smell her floral perfume and strawberry shampoo. Chrissy was that close and it was a silly little thing he had dreamed about. Being that close to the head cheerleader, his unattainable crush.
Her hair was tied up in a lilac scrunchie, ponytail perfectly curled, with matching lilac eyeshadow. He was close enough that he could notice these things, could see how the colour matched the purple tint in her ruffled plaid skirt.
Jeff smiled at her, almost unconsciously, trying not to seem too much like a freak. Just another normal guy. He didnât want to scare her off. He listened to Eddie rant about conformity all day, but smiling at a pretty girl to make her more comfortable doesnât seem so bad.
âHi, um,â Chrissy starts, clutching a stack of books to her chest. Thereâs a subtle flush to her cheeks, rosy red, and Jeff canât quite tell if itâs makeup or if itâs just her flustered over him. She continues before he can start over thinking about whether itâs a good flush or not. Does he make her nervous. âCan I sit here? Everywhere else is taken.â
Jeff looks over, and finds that Chrissyâs right. All the other tables are full, students littering the tables with books and papers with no room for anyone else. All tables, except his. Itâs sort of telling, that the only table free is his, and no one else's, but heâs trying not to think about it too hard. Not when itâs led Chrissy to him, cutely and shyly asking if she can sit.
âOf course,â he replies, a little hurried, maybe a little too desperate sounding. He bites back a wince, and moves some of his textbooks out of her way. âTotally.â
And she smiles, something soft and small, just for him â as she thanks him and slides into one of the seats opposite. He smiles back, heart fluttering within the confines of his ribcage. Looking back down at the notes heâs been working on for his English essay, it suddenly doesnât seem a appealing. Not in the way that it normally does. The words blur into one another, drift across the page, as Jeff tries to keep his gaze firm on the page and not sneaking upwards to glance at Chrissy.
At her perfectly coordinated outfit, preppy and cute, without looking too frumpy. At the way her bangs frame her face, highlighting her cheeks, her shining eyes. At the subtle gloss on her lips, tinted a faint pink. Jeff wonders what it tastes like. What it would feel like against his lips. Is it cherry flavoured, or strawberry â to match her hair. Would it be sticky as their lips meet? A thread of lip gloss and saliva stringing between them as they pull apart.
Shaking his head, willing that particular train of thought to leave his head, he closes his English notes and pulls out the math sheets that Mr Mundy gave them this morning. Grips his pencil tight and tries not to think about how Chrissy is right there. He can hear her organise her books, unzip her bag and take out her things. The scratch of pen on paper. The flip of the pages turning.
Itâs sort of soothing, the soft sounds of Chrissy working, a nice noise overlaying the background noises of the library. And not just because itâs her. Itâs nicer than the other teens whispering and giggling about being told off by the librarian, itâs better than the annoyances he gets at home. The subtle noise of someone working in tandem with him. Itâs nice. Just keeping him company. Even if Chrissy just wanted an empty table, and not him specifically.
Jeff tries to concentrate, and works on his math sheets. Tries to speed through them without totally beefing it. Math isnât his favourite subject â that would be English Lit, funnily enough â but heâs not totally terrible at math. DnD has admittedly, helped. Which was part of the reason his parents let him continue with it (the other part, of course, being that he enjoyed it).
So he thinks of DnD, and of math, and tries to focus on Mr Mundyâs worksheet. Except it doesnât go all that well, because of course it doesnât. Heâll work through a problem, sneak a glance at Chrissy, at the matching purple shade sheâs painted her nails, and look back at the worksheet only to find heâs worked through the problem all wrong. Sighing, Jeff erases what heâs done, and looks at the equation.
âExcuse me, um,â Chrissy starts quietly, whispering as to not invoke the ire of the already stressed librarian. âDo you have a spare pen, mineâs ran out of ink.â
Jeff looks up, throat hitching, lungs holding air as he locks eyes with Chrissy. Clear blue, deep and inviting and looking at him. He tries to hold himself back, to try not to smile like a loon, and heâs not sure if heâs successful or not.
âItâs Jeff,â he starts, clearing his throat, before digging through his pencil case for a pen he can spare. âAnd sure. Hope blueâs okay. I know OâDonnell can be a real stickler about black pens only.â
"Blueâs fine,â Chrissy giggles. Fucking giggles. Pressing a hand lightly to her mouth, her soft lips â the other reaching out for the pen Jeff retrieved. âItâs not for OâDonnell.â
âNo worries then,â he replies, automatically holding his breath as Chrissy takes the pen, her fingertips brushing against the skin of his hand. Her skin is soft, moisturised, and feels like silk against his. What would it be like, Jeff wonders â retracting his hand, not letting himself linger â if she were to hold his hand. Not just a mere brush of fingertips. Would she entangle their fingers, clutching tight? Would she link their pinkies, swinging their arms in between them as they walked? Would she hold his hand over the table, where everyone could see, so they could work and stay connected at the same time?
âThank you,â She says, shaking him out of it, uncapping the pen. She jolts a little, eyes widening. âOh! Iâm Chrissy by the way.â
âNice to meet you,â Jeff replies, smiling and tilting his head at her. He can feel all his insides melting inside him, conjoining into one horrible feelings-filled blob settling in his stomach. Clawing up his ribs, growing likes vines. It was everywhere, it was growing, no amount of smothering was going to kill this crush anytime soon. Not when Chrissy was there, looking the way she did, smiling at him so sweetly. Being kind to him.
â
At the end of their free period they went their separate ways, shaken out of their quiet camaraderie by the ringing of the bell. She had smiled at thanked him as she left, face flushed and ponytail swinging behind her.
Jeff felt like he was going to melt into a puddle, but he still, tragically, had class to go to. So he quickly packed up his things and headed to his next class. He shared it with Frank, which was nice as they actually got to sit next to one another. But the guy was scarily perceptive, and Jeff kind of wanted to keep that moment to himself for a little bit. Wrap it up in tape and hold it close, tucked into his chest. Just him, and Chrissy, and the way that she smiled at him.
But if Jeff knew Frank (and he did), heâd read Jeff like a book. Hopefully he could read him enough that he knew Jeff wanted it unsaid, just for the moment. Not counting Eddie, of course. He was his best friend, and he got it, with his insufferable crush on Steve Harrington.
Heâd tell Frank eventually, of course he would, but not now. Definitely not on school grounds, while everyone was still there. If a cheerleader or god forbid â one of the basketball jocks â heard Jeff say he had a crush on the head cheerleader? Heâd throw himself into the deep end of lovers lake, never to be seen again.
So he sighs, and enters his next class, hitches his bag further up his shoulder and heads towards his assigned desk. Frank arrives shortly after, messenger bag slung on one shoulder and they lock eyes. He tries to keep it casual light, but heâs sure he sees something on his face. See the like and love and ooey gooey feelings seeping out of his pores.
âDid Kaminsky quiz you again?â Jeff asks, hoping to draw the attention away from his traitorous heart. Frank immediately groans in exasperation, tilting his head to the ceiling, and Jeff just laughs. A wash of relief rushing over his tangled emotions.
â
School dragged on, as it always did at the end of the day, and all Jeff wanted to do was go home and lock himself in his room. Maybe wallow in his emotions for a bit, let them settle, and learn some love song on the guitar. Use it to work through his feelings. Sort through them like puzzle pieces. Pick them up one by one, and carefully slot them into place. Thereâs gotta be some good metal ones he can learn.
Jeff lets his mind drift, thinking of songs, and of guitars, and of learning a song just for Chrissy. Lets the class wash over him, absently writing down notes, entirely without thinking about it. He should care about this stuff, should want to take notes, should want to pass. But all of a sudden it really doesnât seem like it matters. Not when Chrissy sat with him, had talked to him, had borrowed his pen. She forgot to give it back in the end, in the rush of the bell, but Jeff didnât mind. Not when his crush now had something of his.
Ripping his gaze back towards the blackboard, towards the teacher, he lets the subconscious smile he was sporting drop from his face. Drifting his way through the end of class until finally, finally, the end of day bell rings and heâs free. Packing up his things as fast as he can, absently chatting with Frank as they exit class along with the flood of students.
Itâs not Friday, so thereâs no Hellfire. Thereâs no Corroded Coffin practice, he doesnât have to drive his brothers across town to soccer, or some other lesson theyâve been begging their parents to go to. He just needs to get them, go home, and then heâs free to lock his bedroom door and melt into the carpet.
âYou need a ride?â Jeff asks Frank, furrowing his brow as he turns towards his friend. The pair of them slowly walking to the student car park.
âNah,â Frank replies, hitching his bag further onto his shoulder. âMy momâs picking me up so she can take us shopping for my dadâs birthday. Thanks though.â
âAll good man,â Jeff replies, and he canât help but be quietly relieved. That he doesnât have to make more small talk, that he wonât politely have to invite Frank in to hang out (because he would, of course he would). That he can leave the school day behind, go home and spend some time alone. He needs it, every now and then, to centre himself. âIâll see you tomorrow.â
Frank claps him on the shoulder as he says goodbye, before heading over to the pick up zone. Jeff sighs, lets all the air out of his lungs, before going to wait by his car.
It used to be his dads â an old white ford â but passed onto Jeff when he upgraded on the condition that he help them drive his brothers around. Jeff had agreed, was desperate for his own car â just little bit more freedom â but he was not a fan of being asked to cart his brothers around like a chauffeur.
So at the end of school Jeff would loiter next to his car until bis brother Vincent came over from the middle school, before driving through the truly terrible pick up line at Hawkins Elementary for Kenneth. It wasnât that bad, usually. If Vincent didnât take his sweet time chatting to his friends and being annoying. Making Jeff late. Because of course he did.
He had some time, is what he was saying. Absently scans the parking lot, seeing if thereâs anyone he knows, anyone interesting he can people watch. If Chrissy is out here somewhere.
Does she take the bus? Does she walk? Is she staying late for cheer practice? Does she drive, or get a ride from someone else? Her mom, her best friend, Jason. Does he walk her to his car after school, does he hold her books or open the door for her? Does he drive her home with his hand resting on her thigh?
Would she let Jeff do those things. Smiling at him out of the corner of her eyes, giggling when he turns to look at her too. Would she hold his hand over the gear-stick, letting her hand be moved along with his?
âWhy are you smiling like that?â Vincent says, entirely too close to Jeff for his liking, making him jolt in place â just slightly. âWeirdo.â
Jeff frowns, looking down at his younger brother to find him giving him a look. Jeff knows that look, heâs seen it on his shithead brotherâs face entirely too often. Heâs thinking he knows something, is jumping to conclusions, is being a know it all. And if his brothers start talking about how heâs lovesick, has a crush, a girlfriend â itâs all over. He wonât hear the end of it. So he deflects.
âNothing you need to worry about Vinnie,â Jeff replies, ruffling his brothers hair â because he knows he hates it. âGrown up stuff.â
âYouâre not a grown up!â Vincent exclaims indignantly, just as predicted, as they both get into Jeffâs unlocked car. Itâs all too easy. A good distraction. âYouâre still in high school!â
âIâm closer than you, squirt,â Jeff retorts easily, buckling his seatbelt and starting the engine. Drives off to the sounds of his brothers ranting, and thoughts of Chrissy.

i hope s5 gives unnamed freak a name. thatâs so fucked up of them. heâs in the show just as much as gareth and jeff and yet heâs the only one without a name?? even jasonâs friend andy got a name! but hereâs the one fat kid in the show that they arenât going to even give a name and instead list as âunnamed freakâ.
he has lines! and nobody, not even his supposed friends in the show, mention his name once. they said âletâs be body inclusive yet still show heâs not really a character!â
so, hereâs some of my hcs for unnamed freak.
-his name is grant vanderburg
-heâs in the same grade as jeff and takes honors and ap courses for anything science and history
-grant sucks at math, but luckily thatâs where jeff is great so he gets help from him at lunch sometimes
-he is the only person able to physically hold eddie down when heâs all wired up
-was on the wrestling team in middle school
-grant has a girlfriend named jessica whoâs in the chess club and the mathletes and theyâve been dating since 7th grade
-he has an older sister, gwyneth, whoâs 10 years older, married, and has two kids (heâs an uncle to his niece, 4, and his nephew, 3)
-grantâs dad passed when he was 2 while serving in the military so he has no memory of him and has been raised by a single mom
-his mom is AWESOME, sheâs a chef at a restaurant up in indy so sheâs constantly bringing home leftovers and sending grant to his friends with tupperware of home cooked meals
-grant was named after his dad and used to want to go into the army to follow him before he started to distrust the government come 8th grade
-his bass came from his grandfather on his dadâs side who, despite living across the country, would fly over and help out as much as he could when things got too much for beth (his mom)
-if music doesnât work out, heâs considered being a pilot or going to work with his mom in the restaurant business
-heâs the friend that waits for you to tie your shoe while everyone else keeps going on ahead
-sometimes jessica will play a campaign with them and she crushes absolutely everyone involved
-he 100% has a pet lizard named henrietta and is allergic to dogs
-also has a peanut allergy
-he is just as important as the rest of his friend group

i got a much bigger response to my Harrington Charms Hellfire post than i expected so i wrote a little something that was along the lines of what i was thinking!
Part 1 ⧠Part 2 ⧠Part 3 ⧠Part 4 ⧠AO3
Sometimes Eddie thinks the real Upside-Down is his life after they close up the gates and pulverize Vecna ("they" in this situation being superhero Jane Hopper and the rest of her merry band of warriors), because past-Eddie would probably have a breakdown over...well, everything.
For one thing, Eddie is currently in the passenger seat of none other than Steve Harrington's Beemer, at the man's very request himself.
"Wait, I'll drop you off."
"'Preciate the thought, Steve but -"
"Munson. It's been like two weeks since you even started walking by yourself, sorry if I'm kinda worried about letting you go across town without me."
"Uh...just you?"
"Any of us, but me specifically since I'm clearly everyone's chauffeur. Might as well play the role, right?"
It's been like a month and every time Eddie wants to go anywhere in the slowly rebuilding town, Steve's right there with him. It'd be infuriating if it wasn't so obvious he liked doing it. If Steve wasn't so intent on just making sure Eddie's alright and yeah the mother-henning should have gotten old by now but if Eddie even thinks about telling him to stop, all he sees is sad eyes and hunched shoulders hiding under a complacent smile and wave bye-bye. God those eyes are fucking weapons.
They're heading over to Gareth's garage for a light-hearted band session. It's funny because Dustin was the one who convinced Eddie to "get your head out of your ass and talk to your friends, dick" and actually reach out to the rest of Hellfire about the whole 'not a murderer OR dead' thing. After some apologizing (ugh) and grovelling (double ugh), the rest of his sheep were willing to forgive him for ignoring their calls and visits while he was in recovery. Provided, of course, that he continue to check in with them on a bi-weekly basis at minimum. It's unfortunate that Steve, for all his head trauma, makes sure that Eddie actually sticks to that basis.
The things he does for love.
Or no, not love, definitely not love, it is way too fucking soon to call this teensy little infatuation anything as huge as love. No. Not love at all.
They're about to reach Gareth's place, that's important. By the time Steve rolls to a stop outside the garage, Eddie's panic (not panic, just a strong argument, this is not love) has simmered down. He has to take his time getting out of the car today, thank whatever deity is out there for quick-feet Steve, who runs around the front to help Eddie out onto his two feet. It's been a rough week but he had way worse back in that first month at the hospital, not to mention needing a little Steve-assistance isn't the worst thing in the world.
"Hey!"
Eddie blinks as Steve helps him lean against the car, the spots in his vision fading away to reveal Gareth right up in his space with a murderous gaze directed right at Steve.
Eddie worries that he's gonna start a fight even though it's been months since he's introduced Steve as his live-in-nurse (nobody takes Eddie's hints at a sexy nurse uniform to heart thankfully, he doesn't know what he'd do if Steve caught on that he's only half-joking) and Steve's been doing the best he can to make amends with Hellfire.
At least the guys aren't walking on eggshells around him anymore, judging by how Gareth barely took a glance to assess Eddie's wellbeing before going back to glaring at Steve with eyes ready to kill. Well fuck you too Gareth.
He crosses his arms, eyes burning with resentment as he continues go stare down a pretty nonchalant Steve who is very much in Eddie's space as he also leans against the car, fuck he's so close. When Eddie glances at him to scope out what the fuck is happening, he sees that gaze again. The gaze that reminds Eddie of Steve's days as King, looking over his reigning population with a boredom teetering on malicious negligence. That gaze used to send Eddie's mind into hysterics, painting images of crowding into the King's space just to see those big brown eyes waver. But that's not how it is anymore, Steve's eyes are usually brimming with concern, irritation or a spark of contentment as he watches his little nuggets run around screaming about Eddie's latest one-shot campaign.
Right now, there's no screaming teenagers. It's just silence for a few moments, a tension building in Eddie's bones until he thinks this must be what it's like to watch a sports match, head running back-and-forth between the two teams and waiting with baited breath.
"So?" Gareth spits out, squinting at Steve, just tilts his head in response and lets a few strands of perfect fall into his eyes, damn that bastard. Gareth grits his teeth and takes a breath, "What did you think?"
Steve watches Gareth, as if assessing his line delivery, shifting so he fully faces him but is still totally in Eddie's space with a hand on the car roof behind Eddie and the other crooked up on Steve's hip. The motion lets Eddie smell his aftershave and fuck, Steve still runs so warm. Whatever he finds in Gareth has to be what he wants because he gives them both a half-lidded smirk and shrugs his shoulders. "Eh, wasn't that into it."
Gareth sputters, face turning crimson and Eddie is like super confused because what the fuck is going on right now?Â
Steve is the one to fully break his brain with a laugh that throws his head back, his neck stretching out so the light hits his jawline perfectly, that bastard. He looks back at Gareth's flushed face with a sunny grin that sets fire to Eddie's veins. "You totally liked it, didn't you?"
Eddie snaps his head to Gareth, who squirms before dropping his shoulders. His little mutter of, "Yeah, I did," sounds so defeated that Eddie feels a second-hand guilt, but over what? He has no fucking clue.
That small pit of guilt quickly dissolves into even more confusion when Steve laughs again, kicking himself off his car to land a hand on Gareth's shoulder and fucking wink at Eddie. "The miracle of Grease, huh Munson?"
Record-scratch. Sorry, what?
"Sorry, what?" Eddie snaps his eyes from the grinning god that is Steve and the sulking fluster that is a member of his club, one of his friends, one of his very overprotective sheep who has hated Steve's guts for a long time and is now letting the guy give him a fucking noogie in broad daylight with empty complaints.
"Looks like I've been corrupting your crew, Eds, if Gary being a Greaser -"
"I am NOT a Greaser, I just -"
Gary? Steve calls Gareth the Great...Gary? And he doesn't even comment on it? Last time Jeff tried that, Gareth threatened to hide a spider in his guitar case. But Steve Harrington, someone Gareth has had no qualms about verbally tearing apart, does it and it's fine?
"Eds? Hey, Eddie." And now Steve's looking at him with that concern-rotten gaze, eyes flitting over every inch of Eddie's face as if to pinpoint what's wrong and fix it with a smile and a soft you're okay now, I've got you. "Back with me?"
Swallowing down an incessant I'm always with you, sweetheart, Eddie nods. In his peripheral, Gareth is watching him with his hands out as if to catch Eddie from falling. Which is stupid because Eddie hasn't fallen from light-headedness in like two days (Eddie shuts up the part of his brain that reminds him Gareth wouldn't know that with a part that says Dustin probably gives the whole club daily medical chart updates) and wait fuck is that Steve's hand on his neck right now?
"So!" Eddie claps his hands, eye twitching as Steve's hand slowly trails to his shoulder, lingering for a moment before he takes it off entirely. Stupid jock bastard with his touchy-ness and his smile and - "What's this I hear about Grease, Gary?"
Oh yeah, there's that livid face of watch out for the tarantula bitch, Eddie's missed that. Well, Gareth still does it everyday but not at Eddie for a while there, probably because of the whole intensive injury recovery shit. Oh well. "None of your -"
"Gareth and I made a bet," Steve clamps his hand back onto Gareth to shove them closer together, pointedly ignoring Gareth glare of betrayal. The space on the back of Eddie's neck still burns with the ghost of Steve's touch, something ugly in his chest snarling at how that touch is now on Gareth's arm. He wonders if the bats left him with more than bites sometimes. "About some movies we recommended each other. And since I won, that means -"
"No way, I'm not -"
"Uh yeah you are, I won so -"
"Fuck you, Harrington -"
"Not on the first date, hotshot," Steve laughs as Gareth tries wrangling out of his hold, holding onto him by his shoulders with one gloriously bulging forearm. Eddie's starting to think the light-headedness might be a symptom of something other than his brush with the bats. Oh don't think about the bats, bad move, bad move. "Didn't know you raised a cheater, Eddie."
Steve's eyes are glowing with mirth, his grin wide as Gareth threatens to bite him with a smile of his own. And that's. Huh?
"And I didn't know you two were so close," Eddie manages to cough out, snapping his gaze to Gareth with a raised eyebrow. He squirms again, ducking out of Steve's grasp (Eddie can't imagine why anyone would want to) and dusting off his shirt. "Holding out on me, Harrington?"
Steve shrugs, his eyes fixating right next to Eddie's eyes. He steps closer, a firm and warm presence right in Eddie's space, right in front of him, and raises a hand to caress Eddie's hair, that fucker. Eddie stifles his gasp because he knows Steve's just getting something out of his hair, like he does every goddamn time he sees a leaf or dust or fucking anything in Eddie's mass of curls. "Just being friendly. Now giddy up, you two've got a session to do."
"Not sticking around?" Gareth looks back at the garage, the forced nonchalance in his tone nothing compared to the shadow of King Steve's gaze. "Frank wanted to ask you about those threads from last week."
"Shit," Steve slapped his forehead, looking into the garage at Frankie who - fucking waves at them?! Mr. "Do what you want but I'm never falling for that Harrington charm bullshit" is waving at Steve. Who, incidentally, waves back with an apologetic smile. "Sorry, Frankie, I can't make it today, got a shift with the supply run! Rain check on the wardrobe?"
And Frank the Unwavering, notorious for sticking to his guns with a grip tight enough to choke a man, gives Steve a thumbs up before going back to strumming with Jeff. What the fuck.
"Wardrobe?" Eddie chokes.
"Don't worry about it," Steve waves a hand in the air and gently pulls Eddie off the car, settling his arm around Gareth, who takes Eddie's weight with ease. "I'll tell you later. You'll be good to take him, or should I?"
Gareth scoffs but his eyebrows aren't scrunched with any irritation or anger. "I think I can handle it, Harrington. Go handle your hero shit."
And here's the thing. Steve has a thing about that word. Eddie's noticed because, well, he's always watching Steve and he has a rocky relationship with the word "hero." Sometimes his whole body glows with the praise, smile so wide and eyes so sparkly it makes Eddie want to scream. Other times, Steve shrinks just a little, barely noticeable, and his smile dims and his eyes are shadowed with something Eddie doesn't understand. Or can't understand. He's not sure.
This time, Steve seems to be on the glowing side of things but it's so subtle compared to usual that Eddie just has to blink and all that golden haze is gone already. He blinks again and Steve's waving bye to him, blinks and Steve's in his car, blinks and he's driving back on the road to wherever people need him to be.
Gareth snorts, tugging Eddie out of his daze and shuffling them both toward the sofa at the back of the garage, the brown beauty it is. "Wipe the drool, man, you're getting it all over my hair."
"Oh like you're one to talk," Eddie waits until Gareth settles him on the sofa and fully stands up before fluttering his eyelashes up at him. "Gary."
"Shut up!" Gareth flushes, stomping over to his (barely holding together, but Eddie likes to think they're made of the same stuff Steve is, to keep going after a fucking averted apocalypse) drums. Jeff laughs when he fumbles with his sticks and Eddie grins when Gareth's attempt at throwing them lands the fuckers right at Frank and that sets them all off.
Yeah, maybe some stuff has turned on its head, Steve and the town and Eddie's general worldview, but he's still got his inner circle and that's good enough for him.

@sourw0lfs tagged me in the wip game but iâm trying to do this gross thing where i just focus on one wip at a time so hereâs an excerpt from that
âHey, so, uhâŠâ Eddie hedged. He cleared his throat, all awkward like he was about to ask a girl out to prom (if he did that sort of thing.) His fingers twitched against his knee. âI um, I think I mightââ
âOh god,â Frank sighed. Long and loud as he threw himself onto Eddieâs bed. âNot this shit again.â
âOh!â Jeff popped his head up from where he was fiddling with the amp. âIs Eddie in love with another straight boy?â
âOb-viously.â
âSiiick. You owe me ten bucks.â
âBoth of you shut the fuck up!â Eddie snapped. âIâm not in love with him.â
He was pretty sure his bright red face wasnât really helping his protest. His bandmates certainly didnât seem to believe him. They just stared, blank-faced and waiting.
Eddie glared right back; he wasnât about to let them have this. Fuckinâ pains in his bony little ass, the both of them.
The phone rang.
âBet thatâs him,â Frank smirked, and Eddie sat on his stupid, lovesick hands. Held himself in place, refusing to lose whatever this weird stand-off was.
Jeff sucked his lips into his mouth like he was trying real hard not to laugh.
The phone rang again.
Goddammit.
âLook at him go!â Frank hollered as Eddie ran out of the room.
Eddie yanked the phone off the hook, screaming back at Frank, âWhatever, asshole!â

STWG Prompt: Pisces
A magazine slapped down onto the table and Eddie dropped into his seat just a moment later. Â "Gentlemen! Â We enter into a new month, it is time for the ritual."
"The ritual," Dougie and Jeff echoed, rehearsed.
"Not the ritual," Gareth groaned, stabbing at his lunch. Â "It's going to be the same as last month, it always is."
"...what's the ritual?" Lucas asked, saying it slowly like Eddie might yell at him for asking.
"Oh, horoscopes!" Â Eddie opened the magazine with a grin, paging through it and clicking his tongue. Â "Hopefully no plagues are written in the stars."
"Horoscopes." Â Mike looked at him flatly. Â They'd only been sitting at the Hellfire Club table for a week now, and in that week, horoscopes hadn't been mentioned once. Â "You believe in that shit?"
"Nah. Â My mama loved 'em though. Â And it's kinda fun." Â He tapped the magazine on the table and cleared his throat. Â "We enter Libra season, may it be prosperous for our resident Libras!" Â He gestured to Gareth and Jeff. Â "It says here that Love is within reach! Â You just need to be brave enough to grasp it."
Gareth glanced at Jeff and scoffed. Â "Total bull."
Jeff grinned. Â "I don't know. Â Eddie, is this your little ploy to confess your long buried feelings for me?" Â He fluttered his eyelashes and blew a kiss."
"You want to be my type so bad it almost makes me love you," Eddie teased as he leaned in just a little closer.
Dustin balked and Mike had gone pink, staring down at his sandwich and refusing to look up from it. Â Gareth rolled his eyes again and gestured to the boys. Â "What are you guys? Â What are your signs?"
"How am I supposed to know that?" Â Lucas still seemed a little confused. Â "Is it like... by month? Â My birthday's in April."
"Early or late? Â What day?" Â Eddie tapped at the pages. Â "That'll make you either an Aries or a Taurus."
"The 8th. Â Early."
"Aries! Â According to your horoscope, you'll need to be brave and face your fears in the coming month. Â An emotional cold front is coming your way, young one."
Lucas glanced over his shoulder towards another table, where Max was sitting with her hood up, staring out the window at the overcast sky. Â "I'm pretty sure I've been facing an emotional cold front for a while already."
Dustin leaned forward curiously. Â "I'm a Pisces, what does it say for that?"
"Why do you know that?" Mike asked, some of his initial standoffish-ness worn away.
"Steve and Robin have this game where they make up terrible horoscopes for each other." Â He shrugged. Â "Robin's a Pisces too, and Steve is a Cancer."
Eddie hummed. Â "Pisces, huh?" Â He too a bite of his apple. Â "Be extra cautious with your belongings. Â Damn, looks like someone is going to rob you, Henderson. Â So the stars decree."
"So the stars decree," Dougie and Jeff echoed.
"I hate it when you guys do that." Â Gareth threw a chip at Jeff's head.
"Why do you think we do it?" Â Jeff grinned and threw the chip back. Â "Come on, Eddie, what's Dougie's? Â Something about doom and gloom, right? Â Something about how he's gonna die?" Â He laughed as Dougie kicked him under the table.
"Well, our fiery Aries friend will be facing- oh." Â Eddie's eyes widened a little. Â "It's actually not doom and glooom this month. Â Keep your aim true to your goals, even when progress is slow."
"Oh." Â Dougie nodded, considering. Â "That actually is kind of nice. Â I can live with that."
Eddie chuckled and turned his gaze to Mike, cocking his head with a smirk. Â "And you? Â Let me guess, fire sign. Â You're probably an Aries too. Â Or a Leo?"
Mike shrugged. Â "I don't know, end of December."
"After the 22nd?"
"Yeah."
"Capricorn, then. Â ...seriously? Â You're an earth sign?"
Mike squirmed a little under his stare. Â "Thought you said you didn't believe in this crap."
Eddie shrugged. Â "There's a little bit of truth to everything. Â That's what mama thought." Â He looked at the magazine and snickered. Â "This month may test your patience."
Mike hunched in on himself, glaring at Lucas when he tried to pat his shoulder. Â "Most months get on my nerves. Â This is stupid."
"Aw, he's like a baby raven," Dougie teased before elbowing Eddie. Â "Alright, come on man, what's yours?"
"The most important horoscope! Â Let's see here, Cancer says... I am invincible and nothing can bring me down. Â Damn right!"
"Let me see that." Â Jeff snatched the magazine from Eddie. Â "...oh. Â What do you know."
"The stars are in alignment for a good month ahead." Â Eddie chuckled and took the magazine back. Â He tapped it on the table before tucking it into his bag. Â "The ritual has been completed!"
"The ritual has been completed!" Â Gareth grinned as Jeff rolled his eyes.
"This is why everyone thinks we're satanists, you know-"
"Let the people think what they want, they're just mad I don't read them their horoscopes."

Eddieâs been acting strange for the past few weeks. One Sunday when he came home from work, he seemed off. He usually slammed the door open when he came in to alert Steve to his presence, but recently he creaked it open slowly, sliding in, and into the bathroom. He took a shower like normal, but instead of coming out naked to flash Steve (something heâs done since his top surgery), he wrapped the towel around himself tightly under his arms and practically sprinted to the bedroom. When he came out, he was wearing a big hoodie with the hood pulled up and a pair of Steveâs baggy sweatpants.
Today itâs been nearly six weeks and heâs still acting strange, repeating that same behavior after every shift. Even on his days off, he was still wrapped up, and when Steve made a move he flinched back hard. When he asked, Eddie always said he was fine just tired. He was trying not to spiral, but it was like his boyfriend was hiding from him, what could it mean? Was it the upside down? Was he cheating? Steve shook his head, he knew Eddie would say if it was the upside down and he wouldnât cheat.
âBabe? You doing okay?â Steve asked as Eddie got ready to leave for work.
He nodded once before he left throwing a quick, âbye, love youâ over his shoulder. That couldnât be good.
About an hour later, the phone rang but before Steve could answer it it went to voicemail. âThis message is for Eddie Munson. This is the free health clinic, we have his test results in.â The message went on, but Steve didnât hear anything else.
~~~
Eddie sighed as the current patron he was serving finally moved from the bar. He could feel his energy draining. He loved this job, he did, but heâd be lying if he said it was perfect. Things were wonderful until a few weeks ago.
As he was ruminating on it, the problem customer in his thoughts walked up. âHey there, beautiful.â Eddie stepped back and without saying a word went over to the other bartender of the night.
âJeff, can you take this one?â Eddie said pleadingly. He never asked Jeff to take his customers unless something was really wrong.
âIâll be right with you sir.â Jeff called to the man whose eyes were trained on Eddie.
âDid I make you feel better girlie?â the man asked. Eddie swallowed his fear, turning away with disgust. Jeffâs eyes were huge as he looked at Eddie.
âIâm going to get the bouncer.â He quickly ducked out from behind the bar and practically sprinted to the bouncer.
âHey Bear? That guy I told you about, heâs talking to Jeff.â Bear didnât need him to say anything else, he simply walked behind the man and started dragging him out.
âHey! Iâm a paying customer!â The man screamed.
âNot anymore. Now youâre banned.â Bear said calmly.
âBecause of that fucking Tranny?!â Bear stopped suddenly. He grabbed the man by the shoulders and threw him to the ground.
âApologize. Now, or you walk out of here with a broken nose.â The man sneered and spit towards Eddie. âOkay.â Bear said before flipping the man onto his stomach. He slammed his face into the bar floor twice. He went to do it a third time when Eddie spoke up.
âThatâs enough Bear. I just want him gone.â The bouncer stood the man up and frog marched him out all the while telling him heâd put up his picture to get him banned permanently.
Eddie took a deep breath and turned back to the bar. Chrissy the manager stopped him, âthat was intense. Do you want to go home?â Eddie glanced around at the patrons and everyone was staring. He nodded, as he walked into the back to get his things. Chrissy promised heâd still get paid for the night and the police would be contacted. She took over the bar so Jeff could drive Eddie home since he walked and they didnât know if the guy was hanging around.
Back at home, he sat in Jeffâs car outside the small house he and Steve shared. He stepped out and waved at Jeff once he got inside. He really needed to talk to Steve about what happened, but he was scared this would be it. His fears were nearly confirmed when he entered the house quietly to find Steve sitting on the couch with a bag packed. âStevie?â He whispered.
âYou got a message Eds.â He replied monotone. Eddie walked to the tape machine, hitting play with confusion.
âThis message is for Eddie Munson. This is the free health clinic, we have his test results in. They have all came back negative, have a nice day.â The tape beeped. Eddie sunk to his knees, tears of relief streaming down his face. He moved until he was sitting with his knees against his chest and his arms were wrapped around them.
âThank god.â He whispered over and over as he rocked back and forth. Steveâs voice cut through his small breakdown.
âWhen were you going to tell me?â His whispered. Eddie wiped his eyes, Steveâs tone confused him.
âDo you listen to my message?â Eddie asked angrily.
âNot on purpose. When were you going to tell me?â Steve repeated.
âWhen I got the results back.â He replied quietly. Steve stood and stalked over to him.
âGet up,â he snarled. Eddie just looked at him so Steve reached down and yanked him to his feet by his arm. âI said get up!â
âOuch! Youâre hurting me.â Eddie said yanking his arm out of the hold.
âWere you going to tell me if they were positive so I could get checked too?â Steve asked. Eddie shook his head.
âYou wouldnât have needed to, Iâve been keeping my distance, just in case.â Eddie said quietly. He isnât sure how Steve figured it out, but he was even more unsure of his anger.
âIs that why youâve been avoiding me and shying away when I try to touch you?â Eddie nodded, the fear was clear in his eyes but Steve didnât care right now. âIâm going to Robinâsâ Steve huffed as he pushed Eddie away. Eddie felt himself crumble.
âYou wonât even listen?â He cried. Steve stomped to the couch.
âI donât want all the gory details no.â He said, his full mean girl coming out.
âAm I disgusting to you now?â He whispered, hugging himself.
âKindaâ Steve grabbed his bag and went to the front door. Eddie couldnât take this. Why did Steve get to be angry about this when all Eddie felt was pain? Why was he angry at Eddie? Maybe it really was Eddieâs fault? He collapsed to the floor.
âJust a dumb Tranny, who got what he deserved right?â He sobbed out. Steve opened the door, but paused at that. âSomething to fix him. But now, heâs damaged goods. Even the man who promised to love him no matter what hates him. But donât worry, sheâs fixed now.â Steve turned around to see Eddie staring at him, his eyes were blank, empty, and cold, even as the tears continued. âBack to her old self.â
âEddie, what happened?â Steve asked softly, his blood frozen in his veins. âWhy are you talking about yourself like that?â
âDonât worry, Steve. I wouldnât want to make you listen to the gory details. Have fun at Robinâs. Iâll be gone by morningâ Eddie stood and sprinted to the bathroom, locking himself inside. Once there he climbed into the tub and turned on the freezing water, fully dressed. Once he was chilled all the way, he turned the water to scalding. Heâd been doing this after work for the past few weeks to try to shock his system back to normal, it hasnât really been working, but he didnât know what else to do. The hot water burned his freezing skin but it gives him something to focus on, itâs then that there is a knock on the bathroom door.
âEddie?â Steve called. Eddie rolled his eyes. After all the shit he just said, he has the gall to sound so concerned?
âFuck off!â He shouted but Steve just knocked again.
âPlease, baby. Let me in?â Eddie huffed, he could tell he wasnât going to go away. He climbed out of the shower, not worrying about all the water he was getting all over the floor, and unlocked the door. He waited until he was safely back in the spray before giving the okay. The door opened slowly, cautiously, like Steve wasnât sure what heâd see on the other side. Their eyes met and Eddie got the pleasure of watching Steveâs face frozen in shock as he took in the scene. âCan we get you out of the tub and into bed so we can talk?â Steve asked. Eddie hesitated before nodding. Steve grabbed a towel and turned off the water. He attempted to grab Eddie again but he flinched back hard enough to slam into the tile wall behind him. Steve raised his hand in surrender before handing the towel over and holding his hand out in offer.
Eddie looked at his hand as he wrapped the towel about himself, but he didnât take it. Steve followed him into the room, sat on the bed, and stared expectantly at Eddie, who stood there in his wet clothes. âCan..can you uh turn around?â Eddie asked quietly. Steveâs heart broke but he did as he was asked. âOkay, youâre good.â He said a few minutes later. Heâd pulled on his biggest hoodie and sweatpants that would hold him but also cloak his body, practically hiding it from view. He curled up on the bed as far away from Steve as he could, keeping his eyes on his knees to avoid Steveâs heartbroken face. The room was quiet for a long time before either of them spoke.
âIâm sorry I grabbed you like that earlier Eddie. I didnât mean to hurt you.â Steve broke the silence. Eddie scoffed and rolled his eyes.
âYes you did. You just thought you were hurting a cheater.â He mumbled the last part. The word cheater hung heavy. âYou didnât even let me explain. You just...decided that I wasnât worth it.â Steve stared at Eddie. âYou wanna know what happened Steve? You wanna know why the free clinic called?â
~~~
Steve looked at this broken man and felt a pang in his heart. He had huge bags under his eyes and his lips were still a little blue. Steve knew something had been going on, but now he was even more unsure about it. âIf you want to share, Eddie.â Eddie scoffed. Steve could understand that, âI promise, I know you didnât cheat, I wonât leave unless you want me to, tell me if you want, not because you think itâs the only way Iâll stay.â After what he just witnessed heâs willing to go on a little faith. After a brief moment of hesitation, Eddie finally spoke.
âI really was going to tell you once I got the results in.â Eddie promised. âYou remember that guy at work a month and a half ago?â Eddie asked. Steve did remember, he was an older guy who made gross comments to the wait staff and hit on Eddie. He nodded. Eddie held out his hand for Steve to take, he did and Eddie continued. âHe came back a week or so later.â
!!!!!
Eddie and Chrissy were working close that night. The bar was packed but the rude man from the week before stood out. He kept hitting on Eddie and Chrissy all night and he stayed until Bear kicked him out. When the two bartenders were ready, Bear offered to walk them to their cars. Since Eddie tended to walk to work, he let himself be escorted to the end of the block.
He didnât live far, only a mile or two, but about half way there he felt like he was being watched. When he glanced over his shoulder he saw a few people milling around and assumed it was from them. He didnât see the guy moving closer to him until it was too late. When he turned the corner, the guy pushed him into the alley and forced his chest into the bricks.
âHey what the fuck?â Eddie yelled but the man shoved something into his mouth. Eddie froze for a moment when he recognized the man from the club. They thought he left, but he must have been hiding somewhere.
Eddie tried to struggle but the man was stronger and held his wrists behind his back with one hand. With the other he wrapped around Eddieâs waist and undid the button of his jeans before shoving his hand inside. âSo the rumors were true huh?â The man whispered in his ear, it sent a shiver of fear and disgust up Eddieâs spine.
Eddie screamed against the gag, thrashed his body, but the man ignored him. He removed his hand for a moment to yank Eddieâs head back and slam it into the wall making his vision fuzzy. The man yanked down Eddieâs pants and boxers to his knees, shoved his own down, and forced Eddieâs legs apart.
He did his best to fight back, but with the blow to the head and his restricted airflow from the gag, he wasnât able to do much. The man shoved his dick inside Eddieâs pussy but growled angrily when he found he wasnât wet. âMy dick not good enough for you tranny?â He snarled. âDonât you worry your pretty little head girlie, Iâll show you what itâs like to be with a real man and youâll be all fixed.â
He shoved against Eddie again who began silently crying. The tears dripped steadily down his face and off his chin, the man scoffed and licked at them. âDonât cry, Iâm just healing you.â Eddie didnât know what to do. He tried thrashing again but that only seemed to make the man harder. He did the only thing he could and just shut down. Emptied his mind, hid in the same place he used to when his dad would hurt him.
It was finally over when the manâs hips sped up slamming his own into the brick wall no doubt leaving bruises. He had the decency to pull out before cuming on the alley floor. He pat Eddie once on the shoulder. âYouâll be all better soon girlie.â He said before he pulled his pants back up and walked out of the alley. Eddie stayed frozen against the wall for a minute before spitting out the fabric in his mouth and fixing his clothing. His hands shook, he felt his body draining of any energy but he knew he needed to get home.
!!!!!
When Eddie finished speaking, his face was wet as tears had been steadily streaming down his face. Steve lifted his free hand and reached toward Eddie but paused until he nodded his permission. He gently wiped the tears from his boyfriendâs face but it wasnât until Eddie did the same that he realized he was crying too.
âBaby,â Steve whispered. âI wish you told me.â Eddieâs eyes closed and he hung his head.
âI know. Iâm sorry.â He was quiet, if Steve wasnât sitting so close he wouldnât have heard him. âIâm sorry I let it happen.â Steve leaned back to look into Eddieâs eyes.
âItâs not your fault, my love.â Steve whispered.
âYes it is! I tried to fight but I couldnât. If I wasnât⊠Iâm sorry, Steve.â Steveâs heart broke for his boyfriend. He opened his arms in offering, nearly falling off the bed when Eddie launched himself into him, apologies pouring out of him. Steve couldnât take him feeling like this.
âHey, itâs not your fault baby boy.â Steve swore. âYou didnât ask for it, you didnât do anything wrong. Iâm sorry I didnât listen the first time.â He held tight to Eddie as his cries shook his body. âYouâre not wrong, you donât need to be fixed.â
Steve continued his reassurances as Eddieâs sobs quieted into soft sniffles. âYou want to know the worst part of all of this?â Eddie asked wetly. Without waiting for Steve to respond he continued, âI feel like my body isnât mine anymore.â Steve wanted to find that guy and punch his face in for hurting Eddie. He finally got to a point where he felt like himself, just for this guy to ruin it?
âWhat can I do? How can we make it feel like yours again?â Steve asked.
âI have an idea, it might seem a little out thereâ Eddie hesitated. âCan we...have sex?â
âAre you sure?â Steve asked.
âYes.â Eddie confirmed. Steve nodded in thought for a moment.
âOkay, but if you start getting uncomfortable we stop, okay?â Eddie nodded.
~~~
âCan I ask? How will this help?â Steve asked as he stood.
Eddie stood too and took off his shirt. âThis time itâs my choice. You know?â Steve agreed and went to take off his own shirt but Eddie stopped him. âCan I do it?â When Steve nodded, Eddie pulled him away from the bed and undressed him slowly.
He kissed his lips softly before unbuttoning both of their jeans and shoving them down. When they both stood naked in front of each other, he paused. âCan we use the strap tonight?â Eddie asked shyly. They normally switched but he didnât feel ready to bottom right now. He wasnât sure if heâd ever be ready again.
âOf course, whatever you need.â Steve promised. While Eddie made his way to the closet to get his harness on, Steve climbed on the bed, grabbing the lube and a condom. Eddie slid his little bullet inside the harness and tucked the controller into the waist band, right next to the lube plunger.
âOh, gonna cum in me tonight baby?â Steve asked when he saw which dildo Eddie was wearing. It was average sized, something they used when they werenât in a full scene. Eddie smiled softly as Steve threw the condom back in the drawer. Eddie climbed onto the bed, leaned over, and kissed Steve chastely. It quickly deepened as he licked into the other manâs mouth, softly stroking Steveâs with his own. âGod youâre so handsome.â Steve groaned.
Eddie blushed and slid his hand down Steveâs chest, rubbed and twisted his left nipple until he moaned, then did the same to the right. Without separating their lips, he gripped Steveâs cock softly, stroking it to full hardness. Steve kept his hands on the bed until Eddie took his wrists and put them on his hips.
âTouch me Stevie.â He whispered against his lips. Steve slid his hands up Eddieâs sides then around to his chest.
âCan I jerk you off?â He asked quietly. Eddie nodded and he didnât waste a second slipping his thumb and forefinger into the harness to grasp his cock. He stroked up and down before pausing with his middle finger hovering over the manâs cunt. âCan I touch you there?â Eddie hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded. He slid his finger through the wetness seeping from him but when he went to insert his finger inside, Eddie locked up.
âStop!â Eddie yelled. His hands and lips stopped, and Steve pulled his hand back.
âSorry.â Eddie whispered as his body shook. âI donât know why I canâtâŠâ he choked up. Steve gently stroked Eddieâs back.
âItâs okay baby, no apologies okay? If you want to stop we canâ Eddie whimpered and shook his head. âIf you want to keep going we can, I just wonât finger you okay?â Steve promised.
Eddie kissed him softly again. âThank you. Can I get you ready?â He asked. Steve went to flip himself over but Eddie stopped him. âI need to be able to see you, is that okay?â Steve knew it would hurt a bit more than normal, but the trust Eddie placed in him over road that fear. He grabbed the bottle of lube and pressed it into Eddieâs hand.
Eddie felt almost shy when he poured lube on his hand, rubbing his fingers together to warm it up. Theyâve done this hundreds of times by now, but every time felt like the first time. He kissed down Steveâs neck, sucking bruises into the skin as he slid a finger inside. When he didnât meet any resistance, he moaned softly. He thrust his finger a few times before adding a second, quickly followed by a third.
âEddie, baby. Iâm ready, please.â Steve begged. Eddie smirked, twisted his fingers until Steve screamed.
âI found it, sweetheart?â Eddie asked, already knowing the answer, especially when he hit that spot again and again until Steve clenched around his fingers. Feeling mean, Eddie stopped moving, dangling Steveâs release in front of him like a carrot. He sat back on his heels, reveling in Steveâs betrayed glare. âWhatâs a matter baby?â He asked innocently.
âI need you Eds. Get in me before I explode!â Steve whined.
âYour wish,â Eddie began as he lined up, âis my command.â He thrust his hips forward sinking to the hilt in one motion. Steve shook as he tried to adjust, but Eddie wouldnât let him. He thrust deeply and slowly, dragging his strap out inch by agonizing inch, making sure to hit Steveâs prostate on every inward push. He flipped the bullet vibrator on, moaning as it kicked into gear.
âHarder baby.â Steve begged, âplease sir, give it to me.â The honorific always sent Eddie hurtling toward the edge. He bit harshly into Steveâs shoulder as he began pounding into him. The vibe pushed against his cock and the base of Steveâs making them both shudder.
âFeel good, doll?â Eddie asked, not waiting for Steveâs answer before his hand was back around his cock. Steve wailed as he was jerked quickly, the difference between Eddieâs hips and hand driving him insane.
âIâm close baby. Iâm so fucking close.â Steve panted, wrapping his hand around Eddieâs neck and pulling him down for a kiss. He began lifting his hips to meet his boyfriendâs thrust for thrust, incidentally pinning the vibe against his cock. Eddie threw his head back and grabbed the plunger in his waist band.
âCum for me, sweetheart. Togetherâ Eddie growled into his ear. Thatâs all it took for Steve. He released hot ropes of cum all over the both of them at the same time Eddie pushed the plunger. The body temp lube filled his ass while Eddie shook as he came. He worked them through it before he collapsed onto his boyfriend.
After when they were all clean, the sheets were changed, and they were cuddling, Eddie kissed one of Steveâs bruises. âThank you.â He whispered. Steve smiled, grabbed Eddieâs chin, tilted his head up, and kissed him gently.
âNo need to thank me. Youâre my boyfriend.â Eddie sighed happily. Steveâs gentle words and touches helped him feel like himself.
âAnd donât you ever forget it.â Steve smiled cockily and pulled Eddie until he was on top of him.
âWanna go again?â Eddie eagerly nodded and jumped off the bed to get his strap.
Chills Right to the Marrow Part 14
part 1, prev part
Dustin walks down the halls of the school. Just trying to get to his next class without anyone noticing. Watching as the eyes of his classmates follow him, waiting for him to do something. It was the same for the other Hellfire members, the same for Mike and Lucas. For Will and El as they were transferred back into the school.
Everyone wanted to know what they did, but no one really wanted them there. They were freaks. outcasts. Blind followers of the devil or whatever shit they believed. None of it was true, but they didnât care. No one could tell them what was true even if they wanted to.
All he could do was take it and act like it didnât bother him. He was an outcast before all this started. That was obvious. But he could still pretend that there were other people out there that might want to be his friend. Might actually like him.
Now heâs left with the fact that the only people that do are sitting at this lunch table with him. Shoved in the corner so no one has to think about them. While the insults are thrown around as words or balls of paper. Eddieâs wanted signs still plastered around the school. A new one taped to his locker each morning.
Didnât matter that he was innocent. Didnât matter that Hopper held a fucking press conference to make sure the town knew it. Once an opinion is formed, itâs not so easily broken. Eddieâs had opinions made about him his whole life. He couldnât even catch a break in almost death.
In his nightmare, Dustin pictures Eddieâs name carved into a gravestone. Overshadowed with words sprayed over the engraving. Branding his final resting place with his burned legacy.
Forever a freak, never a hero.
âHowâs Eddie doing?â Jeff asks across the table. They havenât gone to see Eddie since the first week.
Dustin said it didnât bother him, but it did. They gave him up, put Eddie in danger. Now their stuck in a puddle of their own guilt that they canât find a way out of. Eddie was struggling to live, and they couldnât even try to come and visit him more than once. And they were his best friends.
âHeâs doing better,â Lucas supplies. Making Dustin bite his tongue.
They donât deserve to know it.
âThatâs good,â Gareth says while stabbing his food. The guilt still ripe in his eyes. He canât even look at Dustin. Knowing that he didnât just give Eddie up, he gave Dustin up too. âThe band hasnât been the same without him.â
âYouâve been practicing without him,â Dustin spits.
The table freezes. Everyone looking at Dustin. Either with surprise or pleas to let it go. Lucas especially.
None of them understand. None of them were there. It was just Dustin and Eddie on that trailer. It was Dustin that Eddie chose to risk his life for. They arenât burdened by that. None of them know what itâs like to be burdened by that.
âYeah, we have,â Jeff slowly answers. âWe have a gig coming up, canât just cancel it.â
âSo, youâre just going to play it without Eddie then?â Dustin can hear the anger in his voice. Watches as it makes them flinch.
âItâs not like we want to,â Grant adds. Not helping. âHe just . . . wouldnât want us to cancel it.â
Dustin bites his cheek so hard itâs threatening to break skin. âBut he would want you to betray him?â
Gareth stumbles to find his words. âYou werenât there. Jason wasnât going to let up if we didnât tell him-.â
âYou could have lied,â Dustin yells. Noticing how the cafeteria quiets for a moment before rumble of voices resume. âYou didnât have to single me out. Tell me Eddie would have wanted that.â
He didnât give them the chance to. He slings his backpack onto his back so hard it slams into him. Picking up his lunch tray and dumping whatâs left in the trash. Slamming it into the pile before walking out into the empty hall. Not caring if he gets detention.
The door opens again behind him.
âDustin,â Lucas calls out to him. Jogging slightly to catch up.
âIâm donât need this right now.â Dustin continues walking down the hall.
Lucas gets in front of him, making him stop. âI get that youâre angry,â he tries to reason, âbut that doesnât mean you can just lash out at anyone you feel like.â
âSo you think what they did was ok? I donât have a right to be mad at them for stabbing both Eddie and me in the back?â
Dustin got over being angry at Lucas fast. Knowing that with his lie, he saved them all some time. Was only with the guys on the basketball team because of pressure. The rest didnât have that excuse.
âNo, I donât think it was ok. But you werenât there when Jason jumped them. He had Gareth on the ground with his fists ready. What was he supposed to do?â
The anger inside him is rising again. âNot put a target on my back,â he echoes through the hallway. âHe put all of us in danger just because he couldnât think of a lie. Iâve thought of a thousand lies in the middle of danger. Itâs not that hard.â
âAnd Garethâs not you. Heâs not used to this stuff like we are.â
Maybe heâs not. But still, if Dustin was completely new to this, pinned down by someone much larger than him and given a choice, he would never choose to betray his friend. Without a doubt in his mind.
âAre you really that mad theyâre still practicing,â Lucas asks when Dusting stops talking. âLife doesnât stop just because people we love are in the hospital.â
Lucas finally found the right nerve.
âHe almost died, Lucas. Life almost stopped for him.â
âI know. But that doesnât mean-.â
Dustin cuts him off. âHe died right in front of me. Do you know what that feels like? Holding someone as they die, being helpless to it.â
âI do,â Lucas cries. A thin line of tears forming in his eyes. âMax died for a few seconds before waking up again. The only reason sheâs here is because El restarted her heart.â
Dustin suddenly feels horrible. âYou didnât tell me that.â
âOf course, I didnât.â Lucas crosses his arms. âYou were so focused on Eddie, and I knew it was killing you inside. I thought it would have been easier for you if you didnât know the full story.â
âIâm sorry,â Dusting whispers. âIâm sorry I wasnât there for you. You just seemed to be taking it better than I was.â
Lucas takes a deep breath. âMax is blind. Sheâll never see me again, not in the way she used to. I miss the color if her eyes.â He blinks away tears with another breath. âOne of my friends is still in a coma, my sister is terrified, and I had a gun held to my head. Does that sound like Iâm ok?â
Dustin shakes his head, feeling sheepish. âNo, it doesnât.â
âWeâre all going through something, Dustin. Itâs better if we stay together than force each other apart.â
He canât find any reason to disagree with him. Dustin takes a few steps towards Lucas, the anger completely dissipated. âYouâre right. Iâm sorry.â
Lucas nods, smacking Dustinâs shoulder. âI am too.â
writing about eddie's balls instead of thinking about the book that was announced today where he gets these really cool opportunities that uhhhh clearly don't work out and the ick that is his dad is in it for some reason which isn't going to have any emotional depth because the intended audience skews too young and y'know *gestures* very-cool-rocker-chick Paige is giving me the side-eye.
#i'll at least check it out from my library to gleam any canon-ish eddie characterization#and uh glance over the rest#hope unnamed Freak gets a name though lmao#can it please be lloyd
@griefabyss69 @pennyplainknits @paperbackribs @spectrum-spectre @cranberrymoons @steddie-island i think the people want to know about Indubitably to Suck a Dick đđ
â
ITSAD is an unbelievably stupid crack fic idea i had after remembering an old poetry lesson from a high school summer writing workshop and then thinking about how eddie munson would terrorize his english teachers. itâs terrible i love it you can read the first part here. and a fresh snippet where that part left off below:
âYouâre both showing off,â Frank cuts in as he steps up to his locker. âAnd why are you pissing off Ms. Harbert on purpose, man? I thought you were trying to graduate this time.â
Wow. Eddie blinks at him. âWell, hello to you, too, man, Jesus Christ. Who pissed in your Cheerios?â
âProbably Candace,â Jeff says.
âProbably fuck off,â Frank suggests.
âYep. Definitely Candace.â
Frank groans and shuts his locker, knocks his forehead against the door. Eddie leans a shoulder against the cool metal and levels him with an earnest look, dropping his voice. âShe turn you down for Valentineâs day?â
âI donât wanna talk about it.â
Ouch. Thatâs a yes. And a bad one, too, judging by how miserable Frankâs voice sounds when he says it. Eddie sucks his teeth in sympathy.
Jeff offers no such thing. âAre you two losers done feeling sorry for yourselves now? I want to get to rehearsal.â
Little asshole. Dude always knows just what to say to get them out of a funk, works like a charm every time â not because itâs the correct response, but because Frank and Eddie both start going in on him so hard that they forget to mope entirely, hollering âWooooow!â and âSeriously, man??â and âGo fuck yourself, Jeff!â
âYeah, Jeff!â
âYou know,â Eddie says conversationally to Frank, âIâm told getting popped in the mouth hurts especially bad with braces.â
âDamn right, it does,â Frank nods, and then theyâre laughing, snickering like a bunch of dorks in a nearly empty hallway, which, like. They should probably clear out of. The roaming packs of after-school jocks will be prowling around here soon enough, and threats of violence are only funny when you know nobody means that shit.
#thank you all for sharing the brain cell with me today lmaooo#wip game#writing game#my writing#my wips#steddie#eddie munson#corroded coffin#jeff stranger things#unnamed freak stranger things#but his name is FRANKLIN
